Trade rumors have run crazy surrounding Baltimore Orioles 3B Manny Machado this offseason. It seemed as if he was going to be a lock to head over to the Chicago White Sox just two weeks ago. The problem is that the White Sox only want to flip him to the Yankees. Baltimore doesn’t want to see Machado on the Yankees.
So if they won’t trade him to that rival, why will they trade him to another rival such as the Boston Red Sox? Sources report that the Red Sox and Orioles are in heated trade talk regarding the 25 year old superstar with one year left on his contract.
Trading to the Red Sox makes sense. You can get 3B Rafael Devers, OF Jackie Bradley Jr, and someone such as SP Jason Groome in a package. The Red Sox are desperate for a power hitter and this would be a perfect one year solution. They would need to push to re-sign him as soon as possible.
