UFC featherweight Brian Ortega in his biggest fight yet was able to secure a victory over Cub Swanson. After his victory last night Ortega said he knows he hasn’t made much noise, but trash talking just isn’t his thing. Brian submission skills have definitely made some noise. Ortega 12-1 is 5-0 under the UFC banner he submitted Cub Swanson via guillotine choke at just 3:22 of the second round.
When it seemed as Swanson was getting into a rhythm on his feet Ortega bullied him up against the fence, and locked him into a standing guillotine that Swanson wasn’t expecting. Swanson almost got out of the guillotine, but Ortega readjusted his grip. Brian said “From his pictures he has a big neck” Ortega then said “It felt like I was slipping and he was gonna dump me off so I rewrapped my grip once I had it I knew that was it”
Swanson tapped still standing holding all of Ortega’s weight. It was tough for Cub Swanson last night that was his last fight on his contract. Cub will now test free agency at 34 coming off his first loss since 2015. Swanson out striked ortega 57-17, but he was no match for Ortega submission skills. In just the first round the fight almost got stopped Ortega had Swanson in a choke luckily he was saved by the bell.
Ortega says he would like to wait for the winner of featherweight champion Max Holloway Vs Frankie Edgar.
