Well, it looks as though Jahlil Okafor – the 3rd overall pick in 2015 – is finally getting a chance to play.
Per NBA.com, the Philadelphia 76ers have traded center Jahlil Okafor, guard Nik Stauskas, and a 2019 second round draft pick to the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for forward Trevor Booker.
As a rookie, Jahlil Okafor averaged 17.5ppg, 7.0rpg, and 1.2bpg whilst playing 30.0 minutes a night. For his career, the former-Duke Blue Devil has averages of 14.6ppg, 5.9rpg, and 1.1bpg in roughly 26 minutes of action.
In the wake of this deal, the Brooklyn Nets have also requested wavers on guard Sean Kilpatrick. This move will free up a roster spot for the newly-acquired Nik Stauskas.
